Cave Border Definition
« il: Marzo 27, 2026, 03:22:58 pm »
Hello. I just started using CSurvey and I have encountered a problem I can't seem to fix.

I have loaded an already sketched Plan, Imported from TopodroidX and as shown in the attached picture, the color of the cave is towards the outside. I have not figured out how to change it so it is shown towards the inside of the cave. I have found the Revert Sequence option in each Caveborder Line, but by applying it nothing happens.
What seems to solve the matter is by Merging two opposing walls, but by doing that in the whole cave, the application starts lagging a lot, so I would like to see if there is a diffrent way.

Also I have observed that the lines already drawn in TopodroidX cannot be changed (eg make it from Cave Border to simple Border) and the Category Option is grayed out as shown in the attachment. Is that normal or is it a bug ?

Thank you very much for your time!

Yes, in cSurvey, cave borders have to be areas so you need to merge borders imported from TopoDroid to create a valid area.
Note: I use a different workflow even using TopoDroidX in cave cause I'm not able to get good drawing while in cave.
I use the draw taken in cave as base with whiteboard function*, I mark all Topodroid's objects not to be printed and basically I redraw all better.

Merging border is good but avoid to merge a large cave with one big border's area. Always create small parts and use 'point's join' to join shared points of one area to the same points of the near area (this to remove empty space between two borders'area).
To change and element category you need to use the 'convert to' function (right click on it->convert to). You can not simply change a property to do this.
Write me if you need some example.

Ok I get now how it works. Also I found the "convert to" option. Thank you very much.
